JDBC driver for Microsoft Access databases (MDB and ACCDB)

This JDBC-Access Gateway is a type 2 JDBC driver for MDB format Microsoft Access databases, and provides JDBC access from Java applications, application servers and servlets to MDB and ACCDB files. If you configure your Java security policy to allow the Easysoft JDBC-Access Driver to load its native component, the driver can also be used with Java applets.

The JDBC-Access Gateway uses the Java Native Interface (JNI) to communicate with the Microsoft Access ODBC driver, there is no need to configure an ODBC data source. Because this ODBC driver library also supports Excel, it also provides JDBC access to XLS format Excel workbooks.
