Why do I get error "[JDBC-ODBC Bridge] Connection failed[JDBC-ODBC Bridge] RPC Exception: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission ip address/server name:8031 connect,resolve)"?

If you run the test applet from the Start menu, your web browser will default to 127.0.0.1 (localhost). This is then the only IP address or server name you can use in the JDBC URL.

You may also need to change your your Java permissions.
