Does the ODBC-ODBC Bridge rely on DNS?

The Easysoft ODBC-ODBC Bridge server doesn't require Domain Name System (DNS). However, if you turn on the ReverseLookup configuration parameter, the ODBC-ODBC Bridge server does a reverse lookup on the client's IP address to get the machine name. DNS must be working for this to succeed and your resolver library must be able to do the reverse lookup. Otherwise, the connection takes much longer.

The ODBC-ODBC Bridge client only needs to resolve a machine name into an IP address if you set the Server attribute to a machine name in your data source. You can avoid this by specifying the server machine's IP address instead.
