Why does the JDBC-ODBC Bridge include a web server?

Java applets can only make network connections back to the machine they were loaded from. You need to download a Easysoft JDBC-ODBC Bridge applet from the machine where the JDBC-ODBC Bridge server is listening. Including a web server with the JDBC-ODBC Bridge is done to meet this requirement.
